SHAPING THE FUTURE OF DERMATOLOGY
Our academic initiative is to be a top-10 ranked training program. our Residency and Fellowship programs will be known by the larger dermatology community as one that exemplifies clinical training, academic achievement, and a collaborative environment. We will provide integrated medical student dermatology education across all four years. We will lead the institution in equal opportunity efforts in recruitment and teaching. The addition of a Pediatrics Fellowship in 2024 and planned additions of oncology, and complex medical dermatology fellowships will elevate our recognition as a top-10 school.

Get to know him a little better here:
- Do you have any hobbies? In my free time, I enjoy skiing, camping in the Uintas, and having playful wrestling matches with my golden retriever.
- What’s one thing most people don't know about you? I was a captain of the University of Utah Swim and Dive team and a PAC-12 finalist.

- What are you passionate about? I am passionate about providing high-quality care that goes beyond the patient's diagnosis. I aim to treat patients as whole individuals, considering all the unique aspects of who they are to inform and enrich their care.

Sancy Leachman, MD.
Dr. Sancy Leachman begins her practice with us on January 13, 2025. Her clinic will primarily focus on General Dermatology at the Redstone Health Center in Park City.
Get to know her a little better here:
What kinds of activities energize you? Activities that involve other people and communities energize me. I am passionate about helping to educate people from all walks of life about their skin and particularly about what to look for that could be a sign of skin cancer or a visible manifestation of an internal disease. I call this using your "skin as a window" into your own health!
What’s one thing most people don't know about you? Most people don't know that before I ever wanted to be a physician, I wanted to be a veterinarian! This helps explain my menagerie at home, 4 dogs, cat, and a grand-dog!
Do you have a favorite podcast or book that you'd like to share? My favorite podcast is one that is sponsored by Alaska Fish & Wildlife and is co-hosted by my son - it's called "Fish of the Week" - I encourage anyone interested in biology, ecology, habitat preservation, or how to catch and cook your favorite fish to listen! It is a fun way to learn about some of the most fascinating features of fish from all over the country and also why they are worth protecting as you enjoy them.
